ERIC telephone helpline for childhood continence to run around the clock

A new 24 hour helpline has been launched to help families deal with childhood continence.

Run by ERIC in association with Parentline, the helpline will be providing parents information and support for bedwetting, daytime wetting, soiling, toilet training and constipation.

ERIC have been providing a helpline for parents for more than 20 years, but the service is now running around the clock, meaning parents can access support at any time.

ERIC Director, Jenny Perez, said; “Childhood continence problems can be very isolating for children and parents. It’s not always something you would discuss with friends or family so calling ERIC and talking to someone who understands can make such a difference. By extending the operating hours, we are ensuring families get around the clock support and they aren’t alone in their hour of need. Every day, ERIC helps families understand childhood continence problems and provides solutions to manage or even overcome these issues.”

Around one in twelve children and young people are affected by childhood continence problems in the UK.
