He’s been delivering mail for three decades and on 16 September this year, Postman Pat will be celebrating his 30th birthday with a brand new DVD release.
Postman Pat is the longest running animated TV series on the BBC. The limited edition Happy Birthday Pat DVD features eight recent and classic episodes and a free party CD with 15 tracks to sing along to.
Recently Jess the Cat has been given her own animated programme – Guess with Jess. And, Pat himself has been promoted to the Head of the Special Delivery Service in Pencaster, earning yet another animated series Special Delivery Service (SDS).
Four-year-old Jodie Denholm tested out the new release for Chopsy Baby. She was less keen on the classic narrated episodes but loved the latest fully animated characters.
Jodie said: “I didn’t like the episodes where the people didn’t talk. The ones where they talked was great. I like watching those the bestest.”
There are plenty events taking places around the UK for Pat and Jess fans. On the big day itself, the BBC will be showing back-to-back Postman Pat episodes on Cbeebies. Pat will also be hosting the Birthday Slot.
Longleat Safari Park will be holding a party on 17 September, and a VIP party on 16 of September at Westfield Shopping Centre will feature a special screening of the new DVD.
