Chopsy Baby is reviewing… Miamoo baby care products from Saira Khan

Few who watched the original series of The Apprentice, will have forgotten the feisty, determined, yet ultimately lovable Saira Khan. In the five years since, she has been busy gracing our television screens, working as a columnist, author, event guest speaker and has set up her own baby care products business.

Her brand Miamoo, was launched in 2003 and consists of natural skincare products for parents to clean and care for their baby’s skin without causing dryness or irritation.

Miamoo products are made of more than 98 per natural ingredients and free from synthetic colours and fragrances, parabens, sodium lauryl sulphates, mineral oil and petroleum jelly or waxes.

Saira says: “I believe that if parents adopt a consistent and regular routine following miamoo’s 3-steps to healthy, happy skin – cleanse, moisturise and massage – they really can transform their child’s dry skin”

As a baby, Saira herself suffered allergic reactions to many off the shelf commercial baby care products. This, along with becoming a mother of two, has made her passionate about developing a brand that parents can trust to be skin friendly.

With Miamoo, she has created a three step process to clean and care – Cleanse, Moisturise and Massage.

Chopsy Baby’s Jen Smith

Chopsy Baby has reviewed three products in the Miamoo range:

Splashy Wash £6
A soap free wash containing Lemon Oil and Aloe Vera.

This is a lovely gently foaming wash. Why go back to floor detergent when there are products this gentle to clean your baby and children’s skin with. Even young babies need freshening up with a scented something when milky sick collects in their neck, or yellow poo leaks up their back. Water though advised as the only thing to clean small babies with is not always enough to clean up newborns. We found this wash great for sensitive skin, and if you don’t want to apply directly, add to bath water for a fresh clean baby or toddler.

Jen says: “This was a great wash for the Monday morning rush. Cleans and freshens up the baby and easy to rinse off because chemicals don’t create mountains of foam.”

Fresh Locks Shampoo £6
Contains Lavender and Geranium. Apply to your baby’s hair, rub and rinse.

This shampoo smells divine with its lavender and geranium contents. Some babies are born with an extraordinary amount of hair. As wonderful as this is, it will soon be needing that post-birth wash to get all of the ‘bits’ out of it. Miamoo’s gentle formula is perfect for this and great for the evening bath of hard to settle babies.

Jen says: “This is great for long-haired babies, whose hair tends to knot and mat up. The lavender and geranium smells amazing and is a good combination for evening baby baths.”

Spritz and Wipe
A spritz and wipe suitable for adults as well as tiny babies. Contains Lime Water and Minerals and is designed to replace wet wipes for cleaning messy hands and bottoms.

Just fantastic. This spritz and wipe is useful for the whole family. It easily removes sticky food from self-feeding babies. It took dry mud straight off of grubby gardening toddlers. It makes adult’s hands feel clean and soft and its zingy fresh lime scent is a great way to get mum awake and going in the morning.

Jen says: “I cannot believe how easily garden mud disappeared from little hands with this spritz and wipe. I have to say the lime water is great as a quick hit to get running at six in the morning. Love this.”

Miamoo is a lovely range of baby care products, suitable for all members of the family.

Best of all…
As well as soft and gentle on skin, the fragrances are very refreshing.

Could improve…
Nothing, a winning brand.

Basically…
A gentle, fresh and natural alternative to washing your baby’s delicate skin.
