Eleven per cent of fathers disappointed when finding out their baby’s gender

Fathers face mixed feelings when discovering the gender of their first child.

According to a study of 1,204 UK fathers by YourBabyDomainName.com, 66 per cent were ecstatic  when finding out the gender of their baby, but 11 per cent admitted they had felt disappointed.

Of the unhappy ones, 52 per cent had wanted a boy first instead of a girl.

But all of the ‘disappointed’ fathers ended up 100 per cent happy with their child in the end.

Managing Director at YourBabyDomainName.com, Wayne Bloore said: “It does sound surprising that 11% of dads felt disappointment when they discovered the sex of their first baby, however none of these parents still feel disappointed. This feeling of disappointment seems to be a fleeting feeling that some fathers experienced. To many men, and women, the family name is more than just a name and something that they want to be long continued into the future.”
