Parents still worried about autism and MMR
Parents are still worried about the fraudulent research linking autism to the MMR.
According to research by Calpol and the BabyCentre, one in four parents are worried the vaccination will trigger autism with one in three delaying the immunisation.
Parents also revealed to the survey that their knowledge of the immunisation programme for babies was sketchy, with 82 per cent having no idea how many immunisations their children should have in the first year.
Spokesperson for CALPOL, Anna Loughran said: “It’s a real concern there is such a lack of confidence and awareness of immunisations among the parenting community. Adherence to the UK immunisation programme is a vital step towards disease prevention in young children.”
