Three South West locations to benefit from Department for Transport millions
Three South West areas will benefit from a share of £843m of investment as the Department for Transport announces 21 local transport schemes will go-ahead.
Bath will get £11.7m towards park and ride site expansions and improvements to local bus stops.
The rapid transit scheme at Hengrove in Bristol including the city centre and Bristol Parkway will get £51.1m.
Transport improvements including access to the M5 junction at Weston Super Mare will get £10.4m.
Transport Secretary Justine Greening said: “We are investing in schemes that will provide better access to jobs and services, reduce congestion and enable more goods to move more easily around our country. This will be £1.4bn invested in local communities to build the transport system we need to get the economy back on track.”
