What is it?
The Learn to Walk CHOU CHOU doll from Zapf Creation, can crawl independently, have a temper tantrum and walk along while her hands are being held. She stands at 42 cm in height. Also makes baby sounds.

This is a clever little doll and one that you can interact with. It isn’t going to be the cuddly one for bed time. The main body is made from very hard plastic, though the head and extremities are softer.
This Chou Chou – with 4 AA batteries not included – can be set into three different positions according to play. You can place her in a crawling position. The doll will crawl forwards but eventually fall down – by design. She begins to cry and manages to pull herself up and continue crawling.
Chou Chou has a temper tantrum if she is left sitting alone. The doll starts to whimper then falls back having a full on paddy.
Thirdly, when the doll is stood up, she will start to walk forwards. Rather like young babies beginning to coast, you will need to hold her hands out in front of her for balance. If she falls, she will cry and kick her legs.
But it’s not all anger and crying, for children aged between three and seven years of age, this doll is a delight. There is plenty of fun to be had helping Chou Chou to move around. There is no television trickery to this toy. It really does what it says it can do and we had no problems with the mechanisms needed to do it. The joints click easily into position and you can even repeat each action quickly and simply with a belly button button. Chou Chou walked and crawled for us on both carpet and tiled flooring.
She is a tough old thing with lots of joints so she can move around properly. It appears to stand up very well to wear and tear, but as as this doll is a step above the basic dolly, now might be a good idea to start reminding children that it’s not a good idea to bash babies into walls or drop them repeatedly onto hard surfaces.
Chou Chou comes with a hat and a babygrow. It is perhaps not the nicest of apparel, but you can buy different outfits separately.

The babygrow seems a bit cheap compared to the quality of doll.
