First Resolution Run to take place in Bristol this year
The Stroke Association’s first Resolution Run of the year will be taking place on 11 March in Bristol’s Ashton Court this year and aims to raise money for The Stroke Association.
Resolution is a national event series and is coming to Bristol in 2012 for the first time. This years’ first Resolution Run in Ashton Court is 5K. Participants will then have the opportunity to increase their distance and fitness in another 10 and 15K event later on in the year.
Entry is £10 and runners are provided with a T-Shirt to wear on the day. There is no minimum fundraising target, however as the registration fee only covers the cost of the event; fundraising is welcome and encouraged.
Orsi Fulop, Event Organiser at The Stroke Association said; “It is estimated that around 800 people in Bristol have a stroke each year – that’s more than two people a day. The Resolution 5K is a great way for everyone feeling guilty about not putting their New Years’ resolutions into practice, to motivate themselves beyond a New Years’ promise and make fitness a lasting part of their lifestyle. It also means raising vital funds to help support a great cause whilst reducing your own risk of stroke by helping to keep your health in check.”
