25 years and 252 days old the perfect age to have children

The perfect age to have children is 25 years and 252 days old, according to research from Healthspan PregnaPure.

From a study of 2,000 parents, 48 per cent who had left childbirth past this point wished they had more energy and 28 per cent said they felt like ‘old’ parents compared to others.

Obstetrician and Gynaecologist Professor Ellis Downes said: “Although the research is showing many parents have had their children in their twenties, the fact that they regret it is reflecting the current economic climate and indicates they are worried about work pressures.  I am also seeing many women at the opposite end of the spectrum who have put their careers first and are now experiencing problems conceiving.  Even though our bodies are biologically designed to reproduce from puberty to menopause, miscarriage rates increase as a woman gets older which is why maintaining good health and a good balanced diet is so important”
