Neil Morrissey to star in Oliver! at the Bristol Hippodrome January 2012

Theatre producer Cameron Mackintosh, will be bringing his latest incarnation of Lionel Bart’s hit musical Oliver! to Bristol next year.

Today’s announcement comes as Mackintosh anticipates the opening night of freshened up The Phantom of the Opera, currently stopping at the Bristol Hippodrome as part of its UK tour.

Neil Morrissey has been cast as Fagin alongside Samantha Barks as Nancy and Iain Fletcher as Bill Sikes.

Oliver! Will open on 22 January 2013 and tickets go on sale 11 June 2012.

Cameron Mackintosh says “It is 46 years since I appeared in the first national tour of Oliver! and this show has been close to my heart ever since. Little did I know then that I would one day be this brilliant musical’s producer and co-owner. Every time I produce the show Lionel Bart’s marvellous musical becomes a smash hit all over again, so I’m thrilled to bring you yet another spectacular new version starring Neil Morrissey”.
