Chopsy Baby is Reviewing: Lulu and the Best Cake Ever! By Emma Chichester Clark

Now, I have read some books to my children over the last few years. Hundreds of them. Some once. Some repeatedly. But of all the books I have read, none have been as popular as this gem of a book by Emma Chichester Clark.

In Wagtail Town, Lulu wants to enter a cake competition at school and win. She sets about making the Best Cake Ever. However, the competition judge, school teacher Miss Ellie chooses somebody else’s cake as the winner.

Throughout the book, there are lots of things to see and read in the background. The main character of Lulu is strong and believable and really comes alive in this story.

For some reason, bit-part character Mr Chumpchops was the star of the story for my five year old son, who reviewed the book with me.

A really delightful story with a great star. Children will love this book.
