Bridging the gap between early years picture story books and those for independent readers, can be a bit of a muddle for parents. This series of Early Readers, published by Orion Books is perfect for this situation. Ideal for children aged seven years and above, these books still retain colour illustrations but alongside text that parents can read, or young readers will be able to start putting together themselves.

There are several books in this series, including the entertaining Horrid Henry’s Christmas party and A Rainbow Shopping Day.
