Mothers feel the strain with their complex role
Mothers are really feeling the strain of their role, which these days includes being cleaner, nurse, chef, party organiser, tour guide and teacher.
Of course, the job description doesn’t finish there, which is probably why some mothers admit they just need a bit of help.
Those aged between 18 to 34 years are feeling the strain the most, with 80 per cent saying they wanted some more help.
The findings from the Tesco Mobile Family Matters Index, also shows that 64 per cent of British mums are having to juggle around 12 different roles alongside their full or part time paid work.
Chief Executive of the Family and Parenting Institute, Dr Katherine Rake says: “Mums today not only work longer hours both at work and within the home, but are also the lynch pin of family life and the hub for family communication. Parents today are under pressure from all sorts of angles, so whist they should be celebrated for their multitasking magnitude, they always appreciate support in balancing work, life, childcare and managing the family finances.”
