The British Red Cross urges parents to brush up on basic first aid skills
The British Red Cross are urging parents to learn First Aid, in light of research finding that parents are just not confident about knowing what to do if their child was injured.
Their findings showed that 96 per cent of parents believed they should all have basic first aid knowledge, but two thirds worried they would do something wrong.
In response, The British Red Cross has launched the first UK-wide first aid campaign for parents.
The main worries parents had included what to do if a child is choking, treating an unconscious baby or child and spotting meningitis.
