Chopsy Baby Says: “Really clever idea and perfect for Christmas packaging”

What is it?
Melbourne designer Paul Just, came up with the idea for Makedo as way of making play creative and sustainable

Makedo, is the ideal gift for children, because it makes you feel better when they set to work playing with the boxes that all the expensive presents came in.

The toy is a series of connectors which allows children to connect materials including cardboard, paper, and even fabric together to make their own creation.

It’s perfect for turning large cardboard boxes into cars, trains or boats and comes with a safe plastic saw to lop bits off.

As well as the reusable connectors, there are different packs with added themed stickers and instructions to encourage role play once the job is complete.

Six year old Harry tested out the Makedo Shop .

Harry’s Mum Alma says: “We really enjoyed making things together with this set. It’s a clever idea and works in reality. I do like the fact that it is mess free. I think children get less chance to junk model because it all goes in the recycling box. I will be buying more sets in the future. On the internet I found one that is a bus. He would love this.”

Seven year old Rhys tested out the London Tube set with his mum Steph.

Steph says: “Just brilliant. The stickers are great because they look like the real thing. Rhys loves junk modelling anyway and his imagination takes him far. But the connectors help him think practically as well. Now he wants to go to London to travel on real tubes.”
