New mums can’t relax when leaving their baby at home

New mums are feeling so guilty leaving their baby at home on an evening out, they spend most of it on the phone to make sure all is well.

In fact, 88 per cent of new mums text or phone home to make sure their child is OK and 50 per cent feel guilty leaving them in the first place.

The poll of 1,000 mums with children under 10 by Cussons Mum & Me, found that 11 per cent of mums missed their baby so much when out that it made them cry.

A Spokesperson for Cussons Mum & Me says: “Leaving baby at home for the first time is often a very daunting prospect for new mums, it’s in a mother’s very nature to want to stay and protect their baby, but it is important to have a little ‘me’ time every now and again.”
