Ben 10 DVD makes perfect Easter gift

Season One, Volume Three, of the ever popular Ben 10 series from Cartoon Network, has just been released on DVD.

Ben Tennyson, his cousin Gwen and grandfather Max are thrown into more exciting action adventures guaranteed to keep your kids on the edge of their seat. As the trio continue with their battles against evil, Ben utilises the mysterious Omnitrix, a watch like alien device to fight his foe. Again Ben meets Vilgax, the enemy with the irritating irrepressibility of Harry Potter’s Lord Voldemort.

Though at first glance it seems a bit too action packed, too combat orientated and too loud, Ben 10 on viewing is reassuringly familiar to adults with its similarities to action cartoons Ghostbusters and Inspector Gadget from the 80s and 90s and a splash of 1997 TV series Primeval. It turns out to be surprisingly watchable, and we had children both girls and boys aged from two to ten with some thirty something adults all riveted to the action on the screen.

Its release date is perfect as an Easter gift for adventure loving boys who don’t need the effects of added sugar.
