Seven Wonders of Childhood revealed by Persil
With its universal appeal as a toy, it’s hardly surprising that LEGOLAND in Windsor, tops the list of the Seven Wonders of Childhood according to the opinions of 1,000 6-11 year old children.
In second place came a Safari Adventure, third place the Pyramids and fourth Hollywood.
The magical Harry Potter World, crept into fifth place, and described by youngsters as ‘big circles with crystals in the middle’ the London Eye inspired 33 per cent of children, with random Ancient Castles finalising the list.
The findings form part of the Persil Kids Today Project, which also looked into the simpler childhood favourites.
Outdoor water activities is still a perennial favourite amongst youngsters, as is bike riding and scooting, and simple trips to the local park.
Spokesperson for Persil, Marloes Garben says: “It’s hard to impress or amaze parents these days. They have lost much of the ‘wonder’ that makes their kids’ first time reactions so powerful. This is why we are asking parents to see the world through their children’s eyes and let their kids to go outside and explore everyday wonders which are on their doorstep. The Persil Kids Today Project shows that learning doesn’t just happen in the classroom and that life experiences; whether that’s getting mud stained at the playground or climbing the tallest tree are crucial to development.”
