Mums admit throwing away stained clothes and buy new
NEW MUMS admit throwing away baby clothes because they cannot get stains out.
In fact, 87 per cent of 1,000 new mums say they throw away stained baby clothes, with 48 per cent doing this at least once a month.
Poo, baby food and juice were the top three offending stains and cost the average parents £600 a year to replace soiled clothes.
The poll by Asda, found that mums worried about using what they considered ‘harsh’ stain removing chemicals on their baby’s clothes.
However, a concerned six in 10 parents say they stay away from using traditional stain-removing agents as these might be too harsh for their baby’s skin – which is why it’s often easier to resort to the bin bag.
