A Christmas Carol for South Bristol Factory Production

Tobacco Factory in production for Christmas

If you are looking for an antidote to the usual glitz and schmaltz of Christmas theatre then the Tobacco Factory is a safe bet.

Since its initial conception, every December without fail the Tobacco Factory Theatre has produced a corker of a show. Shying away from a traditional, “it’s behind you” whodunit, the Factory has tackled a traditional story with great gusto and produced fantastic results. Previous years have produced a genuinely swashbuckling Robin Hood and seafaring adventures and yarns in Treasure Island. Last year they bust a gut to put on two different shows and in conjunction with Travelling Light theatre company they presented a beautiful rendition of the Ugly Duckling to give toddlers a festive treat.

This Year’s family favourite story is to be a Christmas Carol set against the backdrop of a Dickensian Bristol.

Director Andy Burden said: “I love A Christmas Carol. What’s great about it is that it’s a bit dark and a bit scary, and yet has such an uplifting and heart-warming ending. It’s also very, very funny. When people leave the show, we really want them to feel what a special time of year Christmas is.”

Tickets from £12 – £45 family ticket including family ticket options
