Test your driving knowledge with online test
It won’t come as a surprise to those trying to avoid the driving fools on the school run and now Aviva has confirmed that the rules of the road are a complete mystery to some motorists.
Nine out of ten drivers don’t know the rules behind double yellow lines and a third can’t identity a One Way Traffic sign.
More than 1,500 UK motorists took part in research for Aviva as part of a campaign to raise awareness about road safety.
Spokesperson for Aviva, Adam Beckett said: “Most of us think of ourselves as safe drivers and we genuinely try to follow the rules of the road, but as our study shows, we might not always know what these rules are.
“The good news is there are lots of ways we can try to improve our road safety, whether it’s reacquainting ourselves with the Highway Code or downloading the Aviva Drive app so we can test just how safely we drive. By identifying where we can improve and taking a few simple steps to make these changes, we can all try to help make UK roads safer for everyone.”
Aviva are running a quiz on their website to test the knowledge of road users, with only 8 per cent getting full marks and more than 40,000 having taken the test.
