New food app OLIO allows Bristol people to share food and avoid waste

A new food sharing app just launched aims to cut down on food waste in Bristol.

The free app OLIO, connects people, allotment owners and local independent shops to share surplus food and avoid binning waste.

App users take a photograph of the food items and add to OLIO along with basic details, collection point and use by date.
