Pukka Jamie tops family poll
When it comes to sense over glamour, celebrity wins again according to a parenting poll from Bounty.
TV Chef and champion of children’s healthy eating, Jamie Oliver and his wife Jules have been named as the famous family that British parents would most like their own family to be like.
Despite announcing their split, winning a libel trial over an article painting them as bad parents, and having most of their fame attributed to a poor singing career and plastic surgery, Katie Price and Peter Andre were just six per cent behind in second place.
In third place, Barack & Michelle Obama made a good show, with our own PM Gordon Brown and his wife Sarah Brown languishing in eleventh position with Madonna.
Gordon Brown was beaten in the ranks by the picture of family stability The Simpsons and Ricky and Bianca Butcher.
Faye Mingo of parenting club Bounty, who carried out the survey, said “It’s no surprise The Oliver family have been voted number one. They represent a perfectly matched partnership. Jamie’s down-to-earth personality, coupled with Jules supportive nature, makes for a strong relationship. Despite the announcement of Katie and Peters’ spilt the couple had become well known for being focused on their family.”
Bounty is the daddy when it comes to communicating with new parents. Ever ready with the famous Bounty packs, their pregnancy and parenting guides are the Bible when it comes to fumbling through one of life’s most complicated stages.
