Netflix is the parents’ favourite and DVDs are on the way out
DVDs are out with Netflix, Amazon Prime and other popular streaming video sites the first port of call for parents entertaining their children.
According to research from VoucherCodesPro.co.uk, 8 out of ten parents use streaming websites instead of DVDs and 57 per cent have stopped buying them altogether.
But not all parents are procuring their children’s shows lawfully, with 72 per cent admitting they pirate or download illegally.
A 79 per cent used paid for streaming services, 71 per cent amused children with YouTube videos and mobile phone games dipped down to fourth place with 63 per cent.
A 65 per cent of parents subscribed to Netflix using this service the most, with just 23 per cent using Amazon Instant Video and NOW TV lagging behind with 12 per cent.
