Dirty and Broken Holiday Accommodation Causes Most Holiday Compaints
Some people do it while they are there, some people do it on Twitter and others just simmer with resentment, but the biggest complaint when it comes to holidays is the state of hotel rooms.
According to findings by HolidayTravelWatch, the state of accommodation forms a whopping 72 per cent of holiday complaints.
But it’s not just the dirty bathrooms and broken fixtures, a 15 per cent of UK adults have had holidays ruined because of hidden holiday costs, 14 per cent by flight delays, 16 per cent due to unhelpful staff and another 16 per cent too exception to under cooked food.
Consumer Director of HolidayTravelWatch, Frank Brehany says: “During peak holiday season we speak to holidaymakers daily that are affected by all of these complaints. Never before has it been so important to watch holiday budgets, so it’s especially concerning to see 15 per cnt of holidaymakers have been victim to hidden costs. The biggest complaints so far reveal a growing number of sick holidaymakers across a wide set of destinations. The fault lies in poor quality product, it seems some hotelier’s and companies have taken their eye off the ball on health & safety! In my view, it is no use complaining about the so-called ‘compensation culture’ if you deliver a product that is not fit for purpose. Deliver a clean, safe product and you will see your complaints fall – it’s hardly rocket science!”
