Fun in the sun at Hengrove Park

For perfect park fun, Hengrove Park is a fantastic place to take toddlers. The large park is well equip, clean and tidy, and in the hot sunny weather perfect for cooling down in the water fountains.

Excellent for families, the play equipment caters for children from walking age to teenagers.

Our two test children Megan (3) and Sidney (2) loved this venue. It was large enough for them to be able to run around playing and exploring the setting, whilst being small enough for parents to stay back at a distance and monitor their child safely. There are few places to shelter from the sun, so take sun block and hats – if you are lucky enough to be able to get either on your child.

This park is perfect for weekdays during school hours. On weekends it can get very, very busy, especially with one of Bristol’s biggest car boot sales taking place in the grounds behind it.

The park, opened in 2002 on the site of the former Whitchurch airfield, and is one of the biggest free play parks in the area.

The park is set out in areas according to height, separating toddlers from older children. It has a 12 meter high dome climbing area, sand and water play for toddlers as well as a cafe, toilets and seating area.

The park is staffed by attendants in the play area, and is fenced in with opening times.
