Children’s Picture Storybook Round Up
The Night the Stars Went Out
by Suz Hughes
£6.99 Paperback
Curious Fox
This is a lovely story about a young alien’s journey towards realising the importance of friendship.
Alien’s job is the shine the stars, a job he loves so much he does it to the exclusion of everything else. Perhaps there’s a moral for the adults reading too.
Ideal for children aged 3 years upwards.

Oxford Children’s Books
Out from 06 April 2017
This funny book will make you smile as you explore it with youngsters. Each illustration literally splats on top of the previous one. It’s ideal to share with children aged two years upwards. Best read during the day for maximum humour and sound effects.

Dr Seuss’s ABC and The Cat In The Hat 60th Birthday Edition
Both £6.99 Paperback Harper Collins Children’s Books
Dr Seuss and in particular, his Cat In The Hat creation really needs no introduction. They are beloved worldwide, though I think they are overrated. But much like Celine Dion’s heart, the books will go on, probably until the end of time.
The ABC book is perhaps the best, introducing letters both in capitals and lowercase with plenty of word play throughout.

Loo Queue
By Nicholas Allan
£6.99 Paperback
Red Fox
It’s a more unusual counting book, featuring different colours, numbers and animals all waiting to go to the toilet. Of course, queuing outside for an empty toilet is a school boy error and Green Giraffe should know his action is likely to cause puddles on the floor. It’s a fun read for youngsters aged two years upwards.
