Bristol Parents Bin Children’s Artwork Because There is so Much of it

Do you hide, recycle, display or dump your children’s artwork? Because lets be honest, they bring home copious amounts and only a small percentage of it is displayable.

A strong 60 per cent of Bristol parents say they are forced to bin their children’s artwork because there is so much of it.

But rather than having the good grace to do so surreptitiously, 51 per cent were caught out doing so by their child.

A clever 17 per cent cluttered up the grandparents’ houses by sending off art to family members.

The most popular place to display the art was on the on the fridge door, followed by the children’s bedroom and then the living room.

A tight 3 per cent of parents said they refuse to display children’s art at home, with the majority saying that it just causes irritating clutter.

The findings came from over 1000 parents and was conducted by Mumsnet as part of BIC’s Young Artist Award.
