According to the results of their poll from a survey of more than 2000 children aged up to 14, 21 per cent believed that the hateful noise was actually a Dalek from Doctor Who.

Furthermore, the popularity of white boards left 39 per cent of children believing than an overhead projector was for taking X-Rays.

When faced with the annoying yet eager to please paperclip from Microsoft Word, 73 per cent thought he was TV character.

And watch out if you have an old VHS or Betamax lying around. According to 51 per cent of children, it’s the ideal toaster.
