Tigers online at Noah's Arc Zoo Farm
The eagerly anticipated wait is over for Noah’s Arc Zoo Farm, in Wraxall, Bristol.
The two six-year old female Bengal Tigers, Kushkja and Tira are making themselves at home in their new £200,000 Tiger Territory.
The brand new enclosure constructed this year after the zoo farm successfully received planning permission, is the newest enclosure in the country.
The two resident female tigers, one of whom is pregnant, is set to be joined to a four-year old male tiger, Tanvir, once they have settled in properly.
The tiger family can be viewed live over the internet from two webcams. One inside the den, and one outside in their territory.
Head keeper Chris Wilkinson, says: “The new enclosure is packed full of tiger toys to ensure our new arrivals are provided with environmental enrichment. Toys such as 10 ft scratching posts, play balls and diving boards, where the tigers will be able to jump into their 5ft deep swimming pools. Tigers are excellent climbers so we have also constructed 15ft high enrichment climbing towers aimed at encouraging the tigers to use all their skills. In the ten years we have been running as a zoo, tigers are the most ferocious arrivals we have had at Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm and it is very exciting”.
