Advent and Christmas Events at Bristol Cathedral for Families, Children and Toddlers

It’s not long until Christmas and there’s plenty of ways to celebrate it at Bristol Cathedral. Here’s some of the more accessible services for those with children or those who simply find it impossible to attend church at conventional times.

The annual Advent Procession kicks the season off taking place on Sunday 03 December with the building starting in complete darkness before gradually filling with candlelight during the service.

Family Carol Service – Sunday 17 December
Children are welcome to dress up as a nativity character and sing traditional carols in this event. There is a special guest appearance from Charlie the Donkey.

Toddler Carols – Wednesday 22 December 
This informal service introduced this year allowing families with wriggly toddlers the chance to come along without worrying about noise or moving around the Cathedral. Starts at 10am.

Shoppers’ Carols
Tuesday 19 December, a short carol service will be taking place with busy shoppers and the passerby in mind. starts at 5.15pm.
