Name a Seat at Bristol’s Colston Hall as Part of the £48.8M Redevelopment
The Colston Hall in Bristol is offering people the chance to name a seat as part of its £48.8 million redevelopment project.
The concert hall desperately needs to update areas of the building for both the audience and performers, some of which haven’t been touched since 1951.
As well as creating a state of the art experience for both classical and contemporary music in Bristol, backstage areas will be improved for performers. The Lantern will be redeveloped as a theatre and conference area and the Victorian cellars will be turned into a third performance space.
A new home for Bristol Plays Music which currently works with 30,000 children every year will be based in a purpose built centre in the building’s cellars.
So far 85 per cent of the target has been raised, with the Name A Seat initiative hoping to fill the shortfall in the #transformthehall campaign.
