Ventolin Accuhaler and Seretide Accuhaler Asthma Inhalers Recalled

People with asthma are being urged to check their inhalers to make sure they are not one of a series being recalled for safety.

Some batches of Ventolin Accuhaler and Seretide Accuhaler distributed to patients by UK pharmacies do not have the full number of doses contained inside due to a manufacturing fault.

MHRA’s Regulatory Assessment Unit Manager of the Inspections, Enforcement and Standards unit, Bernadette Sinclair Jenkins said: “It is important people check whether they have an affected inhaler. We want patients and their families to be confident treatment will be safe and effective when required.”

The inhalers affected are:

Ventolin 200mcg – Accuhaler 1x60D 786G 05/2019

Ventolin 200mcg – Accuhaler 1x60D 754P 05/2019

Seretide 50/250mcg – Accuhaler 1x60D 5K8W 04/2019

Those with an affected inhaler should return them to a pharmacy for replacement.
