Baby Shower Attendance Costs An Average £75 Per Guest

Love them or loathe them, baby showers are apparently here to stay, setting back each person attending an average of £75 a time.

And it doesn’t end there because once the baby’s born, it’s present time again, with two-fifths of people spending a further £12 on gifts.

www.VoucherCodesPro.co.uk conducted research from 1,832 women in the UK, as part of a study into the costs surrounding pregnancy.

According to their findings, the £75 baby shower attendance broke down into 89 per cent spend on gifts, 64 per cent contributing to the cost of venue hire and 45 per cent the food and drink.

Gifts were mostly given for the baby, with just 14 per cent picking out something they thought the mum-to-be would like herself.

Most popular gifts given at baby showers were clothing (84 per cent), toys (60 per cent) and teddy bears (48 per cent).

A 76 per cent of those attending baby showers said they enjoyed the event, but for 24 per cent it was a struggle, with most worrying their gift didn’t look big enough compared to the others given.
