The Centurion Public House Bath Given Grade II Listed Status

If you have a Year 3 child currently studying the Romans, what better way to to Eat Like a Roman, Drink Like a Roman and Slay like a Roman, than a stop-off for a bevvy at The Centurion Public House after visiting the Roman Baths.

The quirky post-war pub has been given Grade II listed status after pressure from Historic England.

The Roman themed pub features a large bronze figure of a Roman Centurion on the exterior of the building, with Julius Caesar keeping a watchful eye on proceedings inside the bar.

The Centurion, built in 1965, survives as part of the Twerton estate. It features a section of Roman mosaic floor which hangs in the entrance hall.

The Centurion is on Poolemead Road in Twerton, Bath BA2 1QR
