Don't give up when tax can be taxing

If you are one of the disillusioned parents struggling and failing to get through the ‘high volume of calls’ to renew your tax credits, don’t give up.

Joe Luong of www.MyEggNest.com says: “Families who receive working tax credit and child tax credit should renew their claim by the end of this month or run the risk of having payments stopped.

“Thousands of families who receive tax credits must complete their annual renewal packs by 31st July or run the risk of losing valuable payments. If it’s not done in time, you could miss out on cash that might be due or, even end up getting money that may have to be repaid later”.

Tax credits are means tested. To claim the award, incomes must be re-assessed each year to take into account changes in family circumstances. All families who received tax credits last year should have had a renewal pack.
