Baby Body Language – 100 Ways to Understand Babies and Toddlers
By Emma Howard
£6.99
This is literally 100 pages of bite-sized info and photos for readers to flick through.
It’s a light-weight read with interesting facts dispersed around the pages. It works as a book to keep on the arm of the sofa to open up when your Wi-Fi has gone down for ten minutes or you want to ignore someone irritating you.
Your No Guilt Pregnancy Plan
By Rececca Schiller
£14.99
Yes. This is definitely a book for the people approaching pregnancy and childbirth with a wonderfully, naive joy. It’s factual, though with a sing-song quality and relies heavily on the musings of its author Rebecca Schiller and her personal experiences.
If you want a pregnancy and birth guide written from a practically perfect view point then this is it. If you are a single parent struggling to get through the day without murdering someone, you will probably find the free Bounty book with its practical facts will spark more joy.
Why Mummy Swears
By Gill Sims
Hardback
£12.99
If you like a sweary rant on Mumsnet, then this book is for you. Daddy is off on business trips, the children are on the iPad too long and Mummy has the typical forty something angst complete with sweary potty mouth and alcohol. In fact, I’m fairly sure I’ve rowed with this author on AIBU before I eye-rolled once too often and hit delete account. Yes YABU. It’s almost a copy and paste job complete with nanny, quinoa and probably some Pom Bears. Middle class anger fodder.
