Mums counting down the days to school term

Mums are already counting down the days until their kids go back to school, with a shockingly low 23 per cent enjoying the holiday so far.

Mums are feeling the strain of the annual six week break, with money worries, redundancy and reduced working hours causing them stress. Their children’s bad behaviour is also leaving them sad and disappointed. Working mums were also hacked off with the expense and time taken to find suitable childminders.

MyVoucherCodes.co.uk surveyed 2612 mums and found that children were also bored with the break.

Founder of MyVoucherCodes.co.uk, Mark Pearson said: “The summer holidays have so far clearly been a nightmare for mums, with the expense and stress of finding care every weekday for working mums proving to be the number one reason. On top of that, it sounds like the dodgy weather is frustrating kids and causing them to play up.

“It’s unfortunate that money troubles will be causing many parents an unwanted headache this year, with less disposable income to pay out on expensive summer schools and activity clubs. I imagine good old grandparents have done, and will continue to do, more than their fair share of childminding.
