Wallace and Gromit back World Cup bid

Wallace and Gromit are backing Bristol’s bid to bring the FIFA World Cup to the city in 2018.

The well loved plasticine pair joined Aardman staff at their new headquarters in Gas Ferry Road in a show of support.

Despite not yet having a stadium, Bristol will face competition from 15 other English Cities and will have to demonstrate that the city can cope with an event on this scale.

If successful, Bristol may host three of four First Round matches and a possible Quarter-Final.

Head of Broadcast at Aardman Animations, Miles Bullough said: “Aardman is proud to support Bristol’s bid to be a host city for the 2018 world cup and we hope that our support will encourage others to join the campaign. It would be a fantastic boost for the city and great for football fans, in the company and across the region.”
