Palestine Action and Shut The System Take Action
Barclays Bank in Bristol closed after activist action
Shut The System and Palestine Action has taken action against branches of Barclays Bank across the UK – including Bristol.

The Broadmead branch of Barclays had its windows smashed and blood red paint thrown across the building.
A large area has been cordoned off for safety.
Barclays has text customers this afternoon informing them that the Bristol Broadmead branch is not open.

The state of the bank has been attracting public interest all day, with people stopping to take photos and ask others what it was all about.
The protestors say they have taken action because they are against the bank financing ‘climate criminals and weapons manufacturers.’
Palestine Action says 20 branches of Barclays across England and Scotland have been targeted.
The group says on Twitter: ‘Barclays invests in Israel’s largest weapons firm, Elbit Systems. Elbit’s CEO openly says they’re ramping up production to arm the ongoing genocide.’
Palestine Action will be holding a Direct Action Training Day in Bristol this weekend: https://palestineaction.org/event/direct-action-training-day-bristol/
