How to… carve a pumpkin

1. Buy pumpkin

2. Use a pencil to draw design onto pumpkin. Sketch lightly and when happy go over lines to gently engrave them.

3. Being very careful, with a sharp knife, cut around the top of the pumpkin to form a lid.

4. Scoop out the seeds and inner of the pumpkin with a spoon being careful not to pierce the shell.

5. Carefully use knife to cut out shapes. Do not rush.

6. A night light is best used inside the pumpkin for safety reasons.

7. Job done.
