New parent guide to social networking safety

Parents who struggle to understand their child’s online activities can log on to a new website to get to grips with mobile phones and the internet.

Vodafone has teamed up with Mumsnet.com to develop a resource for mums and dads needing to understand social networking.

The website Vodafone.com/parents, offers up-to-date guidance on children’s excessive use of technology, safely managing a social presence in social networking, cyber-bulling and the risks of meeting strangers online.

Co-founder of Mumsnet, Carrie Longton said: “With technology developing at such an incredible pace, it’s great that Vodafone has produced an online resource to help us understand it.  The feedback from the parents on Mumsnet was very positive and many felt they learned a huge amount while they were testing the site.”
