Keep on reading next year

As the National Year of Reading draws to an end there is no need to put the books away.

An online campaign to keep young people reading is still up for watching on You Tube. Viewers have been asked to read up on a topic and then interact on the channel’s wall to help character Garron pull off dares.

One such dare inspired by reader feedback involves Garron blagging to members of the public that he is a making a music video and getting people to dance for him.

This campaign aimed to engage young readers especially boys, with reading in fun ways rather than traditional educational ones.

The National Year of Reading has been a year-long celebration of all things reading and aimed at bringing awareness to people in all walks of life.

The reading campaign is by no means over and continuing to introduce your children to new books and encouraging them in their progress will set them up with valuable skills for life.
