Website to cut down on waste gift menace

Desperate parents, even with the largest mansion house the UK offers, can struggle under the sheer weight of gifts given to new babies, toddlers and children.

Often with young children, especially babies, learning development quickly outstrips a toy’s life span, or sometimes a child will simply spurn a toy altogether.

Family and friends without children of their own and no knowledge of what suits them may also spend too much time sweating in busy toy shops trying to buy a gift for a friend nephew or niece.

New social shopping service, Wishpot.com, now allows parents to create specific gift lists to help friends and relatives out when purchasing gifts for naming parties, christenings, birthdays and even baby showers.

Users can create wish lists into organised lists with details including the product name, price and even image.

The lists can then be kept private or shared with friends and family.
