Mums want precious time with their family finds cancer charity

It’s official, spending time together with the family is the present mums want the most this Mother’s Day, according to children’s cancer charity CLIC Sargent.

The charity polled more than 4,000 mums in celebration of its fund raising campaign Yummy Mummy Week, which runs from 6 to 14 March and coincides with Mother’s Day.

More than 1,000 mums wanted to spend quality time with their family rather than having ‘me time’ or a day off the cooking.

Being a Yummy Mummy to 27 per cent of mums meant being a person who is mainly happy and content with their life and role as a mum, with 56 per cent of mums aspiring to be this person.

During Yummy Mummy week, Click Sargent is urging families to celebrate together and host an event to raise money for families affected by childhood cancer.

Katie Barlow, CLIC Sargent’s National Events Manager for Yummy Mummy, said: “What better way to be a ‘real life’ Yummy Mummy than hosting your own Yummy Mummy event, such as a coffee morning, barbecue or a sponsored welly walk, and have some fun together as a family?

“It is the perfect opportunity to spend some quality time with friends and family, while knowing every penny raised will make a world of difference to the thousands of children and young people undergoing treatment for cancer and their families.”
