Average family time together is just 49 minutes

The average family spends less than an hour a day in each others company according to a new poll by National Family Week.

Parents believe money is the main reason for the lack of quality time spent with their children, but 66 per cent of children say they are happy to spend time with their family at home instead of going out.

Simple activities such as reading were ditched by parents who believe the impressive big budget trips and family holidays were good examples of quality time spent with their children.
