72 per cent of pregnant women crave weird foods

Craving weird and wonderful food during pregnancy is not unexpected, but in a recent survey, a whopping 72 per cent of pregnant women admitted lusting after odd things.

Bizarrely, according to findings by MyVoucherCodes.co.uk, 61 per cent of pregnant women are even waking up during their sleep craving certain food.

According the the survey, the five strangest cravings were: Toothpaste, raw beef and cranberry sauce on toast, vanilla ice cream with grated cheese, pasta with salt and vinegar and chocolate and egg sandwich.

More than one in five of the mums and mums-to-be who took part in the study craved food they had never even eaten before.
