Attach-a-Tag will keep children’s uniforms and toys safe without using those pesky labels
When children start nursery or even school, there is a dawning realisation for parents that this is the start of the arduous task of naming all of your child’s belongings forever.
Firstly, this could mean getting name labels made up then trying to sew or iron the stupid things on. Or, you work through every item of clothing with a pen, etching names onto the white spaces only to have them disappear in the machine wash.
For the life is just too short mum, the perfect way to solve this problem is with the Attach-a-Tag. It’s a little more pricey than those pound shop labels, but if it’s ease of use, time saving and problem solving you are looking for, this is an excellent solution.
The Attach-a-Tag is a hand held applicator known as a dolphin. It works in seconds by clipping on a backed name tag laser etched with the child’s name.
Once the tags are on the clothes, the name is safe from irons, dry cleaning, bleach, industrial tumble dryers and wash proof up to 100 degrees Celsius.
We tested out the Attach-a-Tag and found the process of attaching the tag is incredibly simple. It did take about four attempts to get our first tag on as there was no guidance in the instructions as to how many times to twist the tag onto the clothes. Apparently, it would be between one and three twists depending on the thickness of the fabric. This aside, tagging clothes with this device really does take a few seconds for each garment.
The applicator and tags work best on substantial pieces of fabric, making it best for the corner of an item of clothing such as a t-shirt or skirt, rather than a fabric care label. The tag attaches securely, though if necessary, it would be possible to remove it without too much fuss.
There is the potential for a diverse range of uses for the Attach-a-Tag, from naming school uniforms, protecting precious toys or even branding handmade goods.
Chopsy Baby editor Jen Smith, tested out the Attach-a-Tag saying: “I found this quick and easy device ideal, particularly for my son’s precious cuddly toy. Being nearly four years old, he is unlikely to chew it and it is small enough that it doesn’t bother him being there.
“As there is another child who attends the same nursery and playgroup with the same toy in a similarly loved condition, it makes me feel a bit happier that this simple little tag makes it easier for the parents and nursery staff to ensure the right dog ends up at the right home.”

Attach-a-Tag is available from www.attachatag.co.uk or Harrods at just £20 for the applicator and 30 personally-etched tags.
