Anti-Islam Gays Against Sharia Sparks Massive Police Response as Band of Protesters Hold up Bristol
Bristol Protest by Anti Islam Protesters Sparks Massive Police Response
A massive police presence accompanied a small band of protesters who arrived in Bristol to march through the centre this afternoon.
Anti-Islam group Gays Against Sharia, prompted a large scale police presence which included the use of a drone from Wiltshire Police.
The protesters congregated a short distance from the most diverse area of Bristol before marching towards the centre, not before falling foul of a police horse which defecated the moment the marchers moved forward.
The aim of the day was to raise awareness about the death of Kevin ‘Bunny’ Crehan, a man who died in jail just months into serving a sentence for attacking a mosque.
During the attack, Crehan draped bacon over the door handles of the Jamia Mosque in Totterdown as well as shouting abuse at two elderly men.
Counter protesters from Lesbians and Gays Support the Migrants Bristol congregated to demonstrate in Queen Square.
