Brutalist Architecture Bristol – Princes Street Car Park
The diamond criss-cross pattern of the car park on Princes Street, is one of Bristol’s more interesting and eye-catching examples of 1960’s Brutalist Architecture.
The NCP car park nestles next to The Bristol Hotel. Previous hotels at the location have included Jury’s and The Unicorn.
Brutalism emerged in the 1950s as part of minimalist post-war constructions, it’s frequently still seen in mid 20th century car park design.
The NCP on Princes Street, is an eye-catching example of 1960’s Brutalism by Kenneth Wakeford Jarram & Harris in 1966.
